A. The year end recital is held at Eastdale Collegiate on Saturday June 3rd at 7:00 pm and a matinee performance on Sunday June 4th at 1:00 pm. All tickets are reserved seating and available at the studio as of Monday, May 8th at 4:00 pm at a cost of $15.00 each.

Q. When is the year end rehearsal?

A. A full dress rehearsal is held on Saturday, June 3rd from noon to 4:00 pm. A timetable of the order in which acts will be rehearsed is available at the studio.

Q. Do I have to buy tickets for both shows?

A. No, mothers or female guardians may stay with their children in their changeroom area if they do not wish to watch one of the performances and take them home once they are finished and return to their change area.

Q. Does my child need a ticket if they are performing in the show?

A. Yes, as the show is three hours long and we sell out both shows a ticket is required for your child in order for them to have a seat to watch any acts they are not involved in. All students are more than welcome to stay and watch dress rehearsal at no cost, allowing parents to take them home after they have performed during show times.

Q. If my child is only in the second or third act do they still need to arrive 45 minutes before showtime?

Q. No, if your child is not involved in the first act, "Beauty and the Beast", they may arrive at the show start time as this will be one hour prior to the start of act 2 or one hour into the show start time if they are only in act 3.

Q. Why do they need to arrive so early if they are all ready?

A. With the many students involved in the show it makes things run much more smoothly if students arrive early and are organized into their class groups. It also gives them time to go over their dance together if they are at all nervous or if they are in need of any costume repairs eg. a hole in their tights.

Q. How long is the show? or each act?

A. Act 1 is the ballet production of "Beauty and the Beast" and is approximately 50 minutes in length, a 15 minute intermission will follow; Act 2 this year is "CRUISING - PORTS OF CALL" for Tap and Jazz students approximately 45 minutes in length followed by a second intermission and Act 3 "SHOWCASE REVIEW" completing the length of the show around the 3 hour mark with intermissions.

Q. When does your summer and fall registration take place?

A. Summer and fall registrations are being taken as of now up to our studio closing date of June 10th. Those pre-registering for fall classes will save the registration fee applicable during fall registration dates early in September.

Q. Are your teachers certified?

A. Our main teaching staff are all certified with teachers certificates on display in our main lobby area. Those teaching without certification are under strict guidelines with which to follow and are assessed throughout the year as to both their teaching skills and the progress of the students. This is part of the training cirriculm for the teaching certification.

Q. Can parents sit and watch classes?

A. We have a completely open door policy. There are viewing windows for all four studio rooms and three waiting areas for your comfort. Only with the ballet classes do the teachers wish for the blinds to be closed in order to keep a sense of focus within the class, however, the first week of every month the blinds are open for parents to view classes. If there is an occasion where a relative is in town please also feel free to ask the teacher to open the blind. It is not a problem.

Q. We have three girls, do you offer family discounts?

A. Unfortuneatly no, however we do offer a discount program based on the number of hours per week taken by each student and have a set family registration fee as opposed to a fee per child.

Q. Do you offer payment plans for dance classes?

A. Yes, our season is broken into three terms and payments are made either August 1st if pre-registering to save your registration fee or September 1st; December 1st for 2nd term; March 1st for third term. Fees are not refundable during a term, however cheques can be returned for remaining terms once we are notified of them discontinuing. For those taking multiple classes and hours of training, monthly payment plans are also available.

Q. What are your hours of operation?

A. We are open Monday - Friday 4:30 pm - 9:00 pm and Saturdays 9:30 - 2:00 for regularly scheduled classes.

Q. My daughter is not sure what type of dance she wants to take, do you offer any demo classes?

A. If you are registering your child for class but are unsure which class she/he might enjoy more we can allow them to try a couple of classes for the first week to try to help them decide. Our summer programs are also ideal for this situation to let them try a class for a six week period to find out what they might enjoy.

Q. Where do you suggest we go for dance shoes and dancewear?

A. Sequins Plus, on Wilson Road, south of Olive Ave. has the largest supply of dance supplies in our area. They also work closely with us and have an outline of what we prefer our students to wear for each type of dance class we offer as well as proper examination attire.
